Wildfire Community Preparedness Day – Fort Bidwell Community Cleanup

Join us on Saturday, May 2, 2026, as Fort Bidwell takes part in Wildfire Community Preparedness Day — a national campaign held annually on the first Saturday in May that brings people and organizations together to raise wildfire awareness and reduce risk in their communities.

This year, Fort Bidwell is rolling up its sleeves with a community cleanup to help protect our homes and neighborhoods from wildfire.

Saturday, May 2, 2026 | 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM Fort Bidwell Tribal Community Park, corner of Gidutikad Square and Bridge Street

Here's what's happening:

Curbside Vegetation Pickup — Residents are encouraged to place green yard vegetation at the curb. Crews will pick it up and haul it to the burn site throughout the day.

Smoke Alarm Checks — The Fort Bidwell Fire Department, Indian Community Council, and American Red Cross will go door to door checking and replacing smoke alarms. Look for them in your neighborhood!

Burn Site Operations — Collected vegetation will be managed at a designated burn site by the Fort Bidwell Fire Department and Lomakatsi crew.

BBQ to Close Out the Day — Join us at the Fort Bidwell Civic Club at 3:00 PM to celebrate a hard day's work with food and community.
